Counting Sets With Small Sumset, And The Clique Number Of Random Cayley Graphs

چکیده

Given a set A ⊆ Z/NZ we may form a Cayley sum graph GA on vertex set Z/NZ by joining i to j if and only if i + j ∈ A. We investigate the extent to which performing this construction with a random set A simulates the generation of a random graph, proving that the clique number of GA is a.s. O(logN). This shows that Cayley sum graphs can furnish good examples of Ramsey graphs. To prove this result we must study the specific structure of set addition on Z/NZ. Indeed, we also show that the clique number of a random Cayley sum graph on (Z/2Z)n, 2n = N , is almost surely not O(logN).

Number of sets with small sumset and the clique number of random Cayley graphs

Let G be a finite abelian group of order n. For any subset B of G with B = −B, the Cayley graph GB is a graph on vertex set G in which ij is an edge if and only if i − j ∈ B. It was shown by Ben Green [6] that when G is a vector space over a finite field Z/pZ, then there is a Cayley graph containing neither a complete subgraph nor an independent set of size more than c log n log log n, where c ...

SOME GRAPH PARAMETERS ON THE COMPOSITE ORDER CAYLEY GRAPH

In this paper, the composite order Cayley graph Cay(G, S) is introduced, where G is a group and S is the set of all composite order elements of G. Some graph parameters such as diameter, girth, clique number, independence number, vertex chromatic number and domination number are calculated for the composite order Cayley graph of some certain groups. Moreover, the planarity of composite order Ca...

Random Latin square graphs

In this paper we introduce new models of random graphs, arising from Latin squares which include random Cayley graphs as a special case. We investigate some properties of these graphs including their clique, independence and chromatic numbers, their expansion properties as well as their connectivity and Hamiltonicity. The results obtained are compared with other models of random graphs and seve...

On the zero forcing number of some Cayley graphs

‎Let Γa be a graph whose each vertex is colored either white or black‎. ‎If u is a black vertex of Γ such that exactly one neighbor‎ ‎v of u is white‎, ‎then u changes the color of v to black‎. ‎A zero forcing set for a Γ graph is a subset of vertices Zsubseteq V(Γ) such that‎ if initially the vertices in Z are colored black and the remaining vertices are colored white‎, ‎then Z changes the col...

Intersection graphs associated with semigroup acts

The intersection graph $mathbb{Int}(A)$ of an $S$-act $A$ over a semigroup $S$ is an undirected simple graph whose vertices are non-trivial subacts of $A$, and two distinct vertices are adjacent if and only if they have a non-empty intersection. In this paper, we study some graph-theoretic properties of $mathbb{Int}(A)$ in connection to some algebraic properties of $A$. It is proved that the fi...
